Human and social services
One heart, many hands is how Nisga’a people look at reaching out to help each other. Compassion is embedded in the laws of our Ayuuk. It is a gift each of us carries that directs us in how we relate to each other.
The Lax̱g̱alts’ap Village Government Human Services Department offers programs that support economic health for the community and its citizens. We are here to offer a helping hand when you need it, and to provide you with skills and support so you can help yourself and those around you.
Our goal is a healthy and economically prosperous community where children, youth, and adults have hope and opportunities and where a safety net for those most in need is in place to ensure a sound quality of life for all who live here.
Our work is governed by the Nisga’a Programs and Services Delivery Act, 2007, and we follow the Nisga’a Social Development Policy and Procedures, 2017.
